Ten years on the beat

Ojodu Eye is a news media platform founded in Ojodu LCDA, Lagos. We began with local news, media and events, grew into national and world coverage, and now also organise our own seminars and talks on drug abuse and security.

How we started, and where we are going

Ojodu Eye was born in Ojodu LCDA to do one thing well — showcase the local news, media and events that bigger newsrooms kept skipping. Our reporters walked the streets, sat in the meetings, attended the programmes and asked the questions residents were asking. That habit took us further than we planned. Today Ojodu Eye covers events and happenings around the world, while still filing from Ojodu. We also run our own programmes: seminars for students against drug abuse, and security-related talks and events with community stakeholders. After more than ten years in Nigerian journalism, our standard has not changed. Verify before you publish. Name the source or protect the source. Give the other side a fair hearing. Correct your errors in public.
