This message is for All parents interested in supporting their Girl-Child to pursue their passion and talent in SPORT in combination with a good EDUCATION. They should read the following very carefully.
After a long summer break, the Segun Odegbami International College and Sports Academy, SOCA, resumes this weekend. Its programs for 2026/27 assume a new dimension!
The school Founded and started on Jan.7, 2007. A secondary school with focus on Sports and Academics/Entrepreneurship A Non-Governmental, Not-for-profit organisation. Fully residential- (all-boarding)
Capacity: 120 students – 80 boys, 40 girls. Ages 10-17 I arm only of 6 Classes – JS1 to SS3. Max. 20 students per class.
New Programs 1. This session, the focus is on football and athletics. 2. There is a new Head of the football program. Very experienced Nigerian youth/female coach from the United States. 3. A new Head of the Athletics program. Very experienced national coach of repute; played a major role in the Tobi Amusan (world’s best female over 100 hurdles) success story.
New Facilities for sports 1. New, ultra-modern gymnasium 2. 200-Meters, and 100 meters, 6-lane Grass tracks, and a jump pit 3. ‘Lee Edward Evans’ circuit-training centre
Other new facilities 1. Locally fabricated training aids for football and athletics 2. Fully operational ITC centre 3. 24-hr hybrid power system
Some Achievements 1. In 16 years, the school supported over 90 students for admission on scholarships into USA and Indian Universities and Colleges. 2. Several of the students have graduated and proceeded to careers in professional football in Europe and the MLS in the USA
School Farm The school has started a program to feed itself in 5 years. Presently maintains a farmland of Yam, corn, cassava, some vegetables and fruits on 2 acres of land in the campus.
Annual Teacher training program 1. Annual 3-day capacity building training program for all teachers by an education consultant from the UK on latest teaching methodology for a specialist school like SOCA.
2026/2027 goals We are beginning the 2026/2027 session excitedly, with the determination and focus to propel SOCA to the next level in our ambitious mission to become the best sports secondary school in the world in the next 5 years, producing national champion-athletes in 3 years, and some of the best products for the scholar/athletes scholarships to USA and Indian University.
For now, there is still some space for 20 lucky girls in the school. Enroll them now and entrust them with us.
